About Bright Light Electrical
Bright Light Electrical / Cambridge Solar is a locally owned, electrician-led solar business based in Cambridge, with our central depot in Hamilton. Since 2016 we've been helping Waikato homes, farms and businesses take control of their power.
Founder Josh Martin is a registered electrician with a Mains Parallel Generation endorsement, the specialist qualification for grid-connected solar and battery systems. He has more than 12 years' hands-on solar installation experience, and he's still directly involved in every project, from the first site visit through to commissioning.
We're an Authorised SEANZ Solar Provider, and our experienced team of electricians and solar installers delivers residential, commercial and rural projects throughout the Waikato and beyond.
What we do
- Solar power for homes, businesses and farms, including grid-tied, hybrid and three-phase systems
- Battery storage, including adding batteries to existing solar
- Upgrades, expansions and inverter replacements for older systems
- EV charger installation
- Solar pre-wiring for new builds
- General electrical work, switchboard upgrades and fault-finding
How we work
No two properties are the same, so we don't sell one-size-fits-all packages. We look at your roof, switchboard and power use, explain your options in plain English, and design a system that suits you. You deal directly with the people who install it, and we're here to help after the job's done too.
Practical solar, done properly, by people who care about the result. Let's make power together.
Joshua Martin
Owner and qualified electrician.

Our team is made up of experienced, qualified electricians and solar installers, all trained for working at heights. We have the skills to handle everything from small residential systems to large commercial and rural installations.
